Obituary

Alice Catherine (Fleming) Larson, 97, of rural East Grand Forks, MN passed away in her home surrounded by the love of her family on September 14, 2020.

Alice was born to the late Frank and Anna (Chaplin) Fleming on April 3, 1923. She went to school in East Grand Forks, MN. After graduating high school Alice went out west with sister, Lois, where she worked briefly as a riveter for Boeing, Inc. She later returned to East Grand Forks took nurses training and enjoyed giving comfort and help as a nurse. She married Raymond Kenneth Larson on November 22, 1950 in East Grand Forks, MN where they settled and raised nine children.

Alice and Ray were baptized as Jehovah's Witnesses in 1963. The comfort and hope Alice found in the Bible motivated her to share her faith with others. At 86 years of age she was involved in a full-time ministry work until she was 92. True to her character, even as her health declined, she still found great joy in sharing the Bible's comfort with others.

Alice's property just outside of town was affectionately known as "The Farm" where countless gatherings where hosted. There was an open door policy, the coffee was always on and a game of pinochle or scrabble was always an option. From her deck Alice enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren and their friends play volleyball--according to "Gramma's Rules"-- which always made for fun and "interesting" games. Alice will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.

Alice is preceded in death by her husband Raymond; brothers: William, Woodrow, Frank and Jack; and sisters: Lois, Frances, Elaine and Ruth.

Alice is survived by her sons, Randal and wife Jennifer of Mapleton, ND, James and wife Sherry of East Grand Forks, MN; daughters, June and husband Dave Zinn of Vienna, WV, Catherine and husband Scott Burchfield of Fargo, ND, Rebecca and husband Dean Haeuser of Grand Forks, ND, Cheryl and husband Greg Burchfield, and Mary and husband Jack McLaughlin both of East Grand Forks, MN, Diane and husband Tracy Fetter of Mason City, IA, and Sheila and husband Dan Howell of Bozeman, MT; 21 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
