Alvin Harold, Odegaard, 96, of Garfield, MN died Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Hope Hospice, Cape Coral, FL.

Alvin Odegaard was born Dec. 12, 1922 in Medina, ND the son of Ole and Sigrid (Solberg) Odegaard.  He was born and raised on a farm near Medina, ND.  He enlisted in the US Army during WWII, served in the Pacific Theatre.  He attended Valley City State College and worked in Valley City for the Wells County Welfare board as a case worker from 1959-1960.  He then worked for LaMoure County Welfare Board from 1960-1973 as its director, and then the ND Department of Welfare from 1973-1987 as Quality Control Appeals Referee.  He married Frances Steinert Schulz on December 26, 1986 in East Grand Forks, MN.

He is survived by his wife Frances of Garfield, MN, children Mary Lou and Ronald Odegaard, Step children, Judith McCollum, Kimberly Augustin and Jacqueline Gwynn, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Alfred, Sever, Josephine, Selma and Oscar.
