Amanda And
Atlas Brantl
d. May 15, 2019
Meckinock
Amanda Joy Brantl, age 40, and Atlas Brantl, age 3, both of Mekinock, ND, passed away due to a car accident on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Amanda was born on December 24, 1978, in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of the late James and Sheryl (Gulbranson) Brantl. She grew up in Oslo, MN, and graduated from Warren High School. Afterwards, she attended Northland Community and Technical College in East Grand Forks, MN, and worked as an aide for Home and Heart. Atlas Brantl was born to Amanda on February 23, 2016, in Fargo, ND, and was attending preschool in the Midway School System.
Mandi was a happy and energetic child, even with so many ups and downs in her life. Suddenly she grew up and moved to Fargo where she gave birth to her daughter Matalyn and then she moved to Minneapolis for a while. Pregnant and battling with breast cancer, she packed up Matalyn and left. Shortly after she met Josh Kuglin. Him and his daughter Valerie took them into their home where they bonded as family. Mandi was with child once again, a son named Atlas! The Kuglin home was never the same. What a prize he was! He gave Mandi a run for her money, but did she love the challenge! Mandi loved everything about family and so enjoyed the Holiday's! Not only Christmas she loved so well, but loved the 4th of July and would light up the sky! In many ways, her life was like the 4th of July. Mandi & Atlas, you will be so missed. Our hearts are broken!
Amanda and Atlas are survived by her significant other and his adoptive father, Joshua Kuglin, and daughters and sisters, Matalyn Brantl and Valerie Kuglin, all of Mekinock, ND; grandmothers and great-grandmothers, Viola Gulbranson of Oslo, MN, and Adeline Brantl of Roseau, MN; brother and uncle, Shane Brantl of Hatton, ND; aunt and great-aunt, Cindy (Daryl Bragg) Gulbranson of Grand Forks, ND; uncles and great-uncles, Jim (Rachel Heinzen) Gulbranson of Oslo, MN, and Larry Wiberg of Blaine, MN; and mother-in-law and grandmother, Brenda Kuglin of Gilby, ND; and cousins, Stacey (Howard Carpenter), Shawn (Kari), and Shilo (Michele) Lindemann, Belinda (Corey) Peterson, and Rachel Erickson. They were preceded in death by her parents and his grandparents, James and Sheryl Brantl; and grandparents and great grandparents, John Gulbranson, Robert Brantl; and father-in-law and grandfather, Dennis Kuglin.
