Barbara T. Johnson , of Grand Forks, North Dakota, died on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at the age of 85.

Barbara LaMae Torbenson was born on November 14, 1937 at Deaconess Hospital in Grand Forks, ND to Omund & Gunda (Halverson) Torbenson. She was a graduate of Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, and she went on to attend Moorhead State in Moorhead, Minnesota to obtain her B.A. In 1959, Barbara met Laurel Johnson in Grand Forks, ND and they were united in marriage on March 26, 1960. Barbara began teaching at East Grand Forks Central High before moving to Atwater, California where she taught at Atwater High School. Barbara and Laurel moved back to the Grand Forks area where she became a Physical Therapy Aide at Valley Memorial Nursing Home.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Omund & Gunda Torbenson; and 5 siblings, Audrey, Gordon, Robert, Marlys, and Gail. She is survived by her husband, Laurel W. Johnson; son, Laurel W. "Larry" (Gail) Johnson Jr.; daughter, Barbara Victoria "Vikki" Johnson; and 2 grandchildren, Abigail and Grace.
