Carole Renee Larson, 82, of Climax, MN, passed away on April 9th, 2026. She was well cared for during her final weeks by her family and Hospice.

Carole Renee Kragness was born May 8th,1943, in Ada, MN to Earl and Verona (Ellingworth) Kragness. She grew up in Halstad, MN and graduated from High School in 1961. Carole married Gary Lindgren in June of 1961. They have three sons: Nathan, Daniel, and Benjamin.  They farmed in Hillsboro. Carole also owned a craft store called The Needleworks. After that marriage ended, she found the love of her life, Jerry Larson.

Carole married Jerry Joseph Larson on August 3, 1979, in Hillsboro, ND. In 1982, they moved to Climax, MN to run the Larson family farm and raise their three sons. During that time, Carole was a loving wife and mother. She was also a bookkeeper, parts runner, short order cook, and antique shopping partner. Carole was a member of the Sandhill Lutheran Church outside of Climax, MN.  Carole sold the farm in 2017 after the death of Jerry in 2016 and moved to East Grand Forks, MN.

Carole enjoyed ceramics, baking the world's greatest chocolate chip cookies, planting flowers, making floral arrangements for family weddings, Mahjong, jigsaw puzzles, and crossword puzzles. In her later years, she enjoyed hosting her "tea party" friends at her home in East Grand Forks.

Grandma Squishy will be remembered for her laughter, calm demeanor, her cookies, hosting Thanksgiving dinners for the Kragness clan, the ability to talk about anything at any time to anyone, and weekly phone calls to family and dear friends. She was a strong woman that was always willing to support anyone in need.

Carole is survived by her three sons Nathan (Michelle) Lindgren of Moorhead, MN, Daniel (Renae) Lindgren of Argyle, MN and Benjamin (Tonya) Larson of Kernersville, NC; brothers David (Janice) Kragness of Warroad, MN and Ron (Julie) Kragness of Mentor, MN; grandchildren Teni (Kyle), Elise (Conner), Anna, Brittney (Kevin), Ashley, Kelsey (Alex), Jason, Dakota, Jayda, Tylon, Keenon; great-grandchildren Sebastian, Larson, Scotty, Amaya, Jerran, Emma and Bryar; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Jerry Larson, brother Rick Kragness, sister Yvonne (Magnusson) Thomas, and parents Earl and Verona Kragness.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Dahl Funeral Home, 2029 Central Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721.

VISITATION: One hour before the service at Dahl Funeral Home.

INURNMENT: Birgit Cemetery, Polk County, MN.
