Charles "Chuck" Troyer, 82, of East Grand Forks, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks from complications of COVID.

Charles Emerson Troyer was born July 1, 1938 to the late Abner and Grace (Smucker) Troyer in Smithville, OH where he grew up.  He graduated from Smithville High School and worked for Troyer Manufacturing. On July 16, 1960 he married the love of his life Linda L. Turner. They moved to East Grand Forks in 1961 and started Troyer Manufacturing with his brother James where they made potato farming equipment.

Chuck was currently employed at Black Gold Farms and a member of Zion United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golf, going to their place at Lake of the Woods, and baking for all his family and friends. He was known as "The Sweet Potato Pie Guy." He looked forward to spending his mornings with the "Coffee Guys." His greatest joy was spending time with his family and was especially proud of his four grandkids and eight great-grandkids.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Linda Troyer of East Grand Forks; three daughters Lori Troyer, DeeDee Terrill, and Patti (Hans) Stordahl all of East Grand Forks; sister Mary Jean Troyer of Smithville, OH; two brothers James (Elaine) Troyer of Mesa, AZ and Willis Troyer of Smithville, OH; four grandchildren, Sonja (Billy) Brown and their kids Cameron and Abigail of Castle Rock, CO, Seth (Kara) Anderson and their children Hanna and Jordan of Aberdeen, SD, Emily (Michael) Bauer and their children Rowan, Rozlyn, and Millie, of Faulkton, SD, and Codi (Hillery) Terrill and their son August of Sioux Falls, SD.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his parents-in-law Kenneth and Mary Turner and sister-in-law Phyliss Troyer.

Memorial Service: Because of COVID-19, the service will be PRIVATE on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM but will be live-streamed on Chuck's page at www.dandahlfuneralhome.com .
