Clifton Nerby, 72, of Grand Forks, passed away Friday, June 7, 2019 at Northwood Deaconess Health Center.

He was born August 16, 1946 to the late Thomas and Delories "Dody" (Nichols) Nerby. He grew up in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School before serving our country in the US Navy from 1965-1970. Following his service, he attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, and moved to Bismarck to attend Trade School there. On July 17, 1970 he married Marsha Forseth in Sisseton, SD. Clifton worked for his Dad in concrete and brickwork, and worked at Valley Construction. He worked at many of the area construction companies and elevators but retired from MinnDak Seeds in 1993.

Clifton is survived by his sons Kenneth Nerby of East Grand Forks and Timothy (Shari) Nerby of Portland, ND; daughter Tammy (Bradley) Nickelson of Grand Forks; brother Tommy Nerby of Mesa, AZ; three sisters, Lee Lawrence of Las Vegas, NV, Dory Coop of Mesa, AZ, and Bonnie (Martin) McNamee of Grand Forks; five grandchildren, Jack, Dawnelie (Brandon), Tonya, Erika, and Nikki; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Marsha on March 10, 2016.
