Darlyne M. Murray, 85, of West Fargo, North Dakota passed away peacefully at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND with family by her side.

Darlyne was born Sept. 3, 1939, in Harrison Township, Walsh County, ND to Percy and Ameila (Mondry) Barclay. She grew up on the family farm in Stephen MN and graduated from Oslo High School in 1957.

Following graduation Darlyne enrolled in Mayville State University where she earned her teaching certificate. It was there she met the love of her life Robert Murray. They were united in marriage on December 27, 1958, at St. John's Catholic Church in Grafton.

Darlyne and Bob began expanding their family shortly after they were married and were blessed with six children. Bob's teaching career took them to various parts of ND before they settled in West Fargo in 1980. Darlyne began working at Sanford Medical Center, first as a switchboard operator and later as a Guest Services representative and retired in 2018, at the age of 78. Darlyne loved her Sanford family and made many lasting friendships with those that worked with her during her tenure there.

Darlyne enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers, and spent many hours outdoors tending to her garden and plants. She was also a wonderful seamstress, sewing many of her children's clothing when they were young as well as making quilts for her loved ones. More than anything she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her adorable Papillon, Jacques, who was her loyal and constant companion for almost 16 years. Darlyne also had an incredible sweet tooth, especially for chocolate! She loved to bake and would regularly whip up delicious bars, cookies, candies and desserts to share with her family and friends.

She is survived by her six children Rob (Dawn) Murray of Davenport, ND, Shannon (Jim) Kent of Monee, IL, Dawn (Scott) Slieter of Pinehurst, NC, Heather Helgeson of Grand Forks, ND, Bridget (Adam Henshel) Murray of Fargo, ND, Patrick (Mandie) Murray of Fargo, ND; brother Arnold (Mary Ann) Barclay of Minto, ND;12 grandchildren Lauren Kent, Joshua Horsley, Ted Helgeson, Samuel Helgeson, Erin Murray, Logan Kent, Sydney Kent, Lance Henshel, Gavin Murray, Hudson Murray, Lincoln Henshel, Cadence Murray; and five great-grandchildren Sophia Horsley, Aria Howard, Wesley Helgeson, Sunnie Helgeson, and Sawyer Kent.

She was preceded in death by her parents Percy and Amelia Barclay, husband Robert Murray, sisters, Claryce Rose and Sharon Mlcoch, son-in-law Paul Helgeson, and beloved furry companion Jacques.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 1:00 PM, Friday, May 16, 2025 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, West Fargo, ND.

VISITATION: One hour prior to the Mass.

INTERMENT: Darlyne will be laid to rest with her beloved Robert in a private family ceremony at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Hillsboro, ND.
