David Gilleland passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, at the age of 67.

Born on November 4, 1957, Dave was a quiet and steady presence in the lives of those who knew him. Dave graduated from the Senior High in East Grand Forks, MN. Together with the love of his life, Sandy, they made their home a few miles out of East Grand Forks and raised their daughter, Sadie.

Dave enjoyed fishing, snow-catting, and grouse hunting with family and lifelong friends. He felt most at peace in nature. The outdoors was his refuge—a place where he fished in silence, listened for the calls of loons, and soaked in the sun and the serenity of the world around him. He also cherished every moment with his grandchildren. He truly loved being a grandpa and took great joy in spending time with the kids. Dave lived a life of quiet meaning, rooted in family, friendship, and the simple joys of the outdoors. He will be deeply missed and always remembered.

He is survived by his loving partner of 46 years, Sandra Driscoll; his father, Robert "Lefty"; his brother, Tim (Cathy); his sister, Bobbi (Greg); his daughter, Sadie Steenerson (Ryan); grandchildren, Brent (Stephanie), Jade, Tate, and Jaxzyn; great-grandchildren, Emma, Dawson, Calista, Kaylee, and Ariah; and nieces, Brandi and Kalley, and nephews, Eric and Caleb. Dave was preceded in death by his mother, Eunice "Tupy".

Visitation begins at 3:00 PM, with a 4:00 PM Memorial Service , on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Dahl Funeral Home in East Grand Forks. Following the service, please join us for a Celebration of Life at the Spud Jr Prohibition Room at 302 Demers Avenue in East Grand Forks.
