Dawn Renae Hanson, 57, of Grand Forks, ND, died Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND, surrounded by her family.

Dawn Renae Graham was born December 25, 1967, in Rugby, ND, the daughter of Darrell and DiAnne (Maskey) Graham. She grew up in Towner, ND, where she attended school. Dawn spent 30 years working in insurance at Farmers Union, ING, State Farm, and Geico. Most recently, she worked for Edgewood in the Human Resources department.

Dawn married the love of her life, Richard Hanson, in Grand Forks, ND, on September 12, 2015. She found the perfect adventure partner and loved traveling with her husband to new places. She loved history, so several of their trips were to destinations rich in history. When they weren't on a jet-setting adventure, they loved spending time at the lake. She was an avid reader, always keeping a book with her, and instilled a love of reading in her children.

She is survived by her husband, Richard of Grand Forks, ND; her two daughters, Lauren (Steven) Swearson of Towner, ND, Mandy Fosness of East Grand Forks, MN; six grandsons, Connor, Kane, Pierce, Chance, Emmitt and Barrett; one sister, Misty (Bill) Harper-Anderson, of Eagan, MN; three brothers, Duane (Lynnette) Graham of Towner, ND, Travis Hanretty of Fargo, ND, and Nicholas Graham of Bismarck, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Dahl Funeral Home, East Grand Forks, MN.

VISITATION:   1 hour before services at the chapel

INURNMENT:  Resurrection Cemetery, East Grand Forks, MN in the spring.
