Delmore Eugene Mattson, of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on August 14, 2020 at the age of 100, at Valley Senior living in Grand Forks, ND.

Delmore was born March 24, 1920 in Esther township, rural East Grand Forks, MN to Elmer and Miranda (Sandin) Mattson.  Delmore was baptized, confirmed and married at Bethesda Swedish Lutheran Church, now Bethany Lutheran Church.  He was united in marriage to Dorine Colligan on June 25, 1950.

After the death of his parents at young ages, Delmore and his brother Wendell were raised by relatives and family friends.  Delmore graduated from East Grand Forks Central High School in 1939.  Following high school, he worked on the Kenn farm followed by the Art Thureen Garage (later Dunlevys) from 1946 to 1953.  In 1953 he started working for the Flatten-Pape Farms, as well as farming his own farm.

Delmore was a life-long member of Bethany Lutheran Church.  He was on the East Grand Forks School Board from 1960 to 1966, an adult leader with the Northland 4-H club, and a member of the East Grand Forks Retired Men's Club. He was a board member and agent with Vineland Huntsville Insurance Company.  Delmore particularly enjoyed photography, model railroading and scrapbooking.

Delmore is survived by daughter, Dianne (Dan) Melcher, St Anthony, MN, son, Donald Mattson, Thief River Falls, MN; granddaughters, Kari (Andy) Artzer, Laura (Will Amundson) Melcher, Maggie (Rusty) Jones, and Rachel (Todd) Wisler; great grandchildren, Abigail, Nels, Elise and Anders;  nieces, Linda and Laurie and nephew, Eric; brother-in-law, Mike Colligan.

Delmore is preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorine, son Duane, daughter Denise and brother Wendell.
