Deloris M. Coulter, 85, of Grand Forks formerly of Alvarado, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Mapleview Memory Care of Grand Forks.

Deloris Marlene Johnson was born June 3, 1938 to Ferdinand and Anne (Mackie) Johnson in Alvarado, MN. She grew up in Alvardo and graduated from high school there in 1956. On June 23, 1956, Deloris was united in marriage to Neil B. Coulter in San Antonio, TX. They made their home in Alvarado where they raised their three children, Julie, Troy, and Erin. Deloris worked at Deaconess Hospital, later United Hospital, of Grand Forks in the insurance department for many years. Together, Deloris and Neil spent many of their retirement years between Park Rapids, MN and Phoenix, Arizona.

Deloris is survived by her husband Neil Coulter; children Julie Coulter, Troy Coulter both of Grand Forks, Erin (Victor) Benard of Phoenix, AZ, MaryDawn Coulter of Grand Forks; grandchildren David Coulter, Alexandra (Ken) VandenBerghe, Michelle (Antonio) Armour, and Samantha (Roman) Cazares; great-grandchildren William and Eddie Cazares, Neil VandenBerghe, and Kiara and Alayna Armour; brother Floyd (Bonnie) Johnson of Alvarado,  sisters Sandra (Doug) Huderle of East Grand Forks, Lana Swartz of Fargo, Don (Yvonne) Nelson, St. Cloud, Linda Boothe, St. Paul, and Duane Nelson, Bucharest, Romania.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ferdinand Johnson, Anne (Mackie) Johnson Nelson, step-father Hjalmer Nelson, sisters Pauline Ranstrom, Arlyn (Don) Sands, and Deanna (Gary) Storbakken.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Elim Cemetery in Rural Alvarado, MN.
