Denise Ann (Mattson) Austin, 65, of Houston, TX passed away on July 5, 2020 in Conroe, TX. Denise was born on April 26, 1955 to Delmore and Dorine Mattson in Grand Forks, ND. She grew up in East Grand Forks, MN and graduated from East Grand Forks Senior High. Then, she attended and graduated from Bemidji State College (University). She was a teacher in Poplar, MT for two years. Around 1980 she moved to Houston, TX where she worked and raised her two daughters. Denise is survived by her daughters, Kari (Andrew) Artzer of Houston, TX and Rachel (Todd) Wisler of Conroe, TX; granddaughter, Abigail Artzer; father, Delmore Mattson of East Grand Forks, MN; siblings, Donald Mattson of Thief River Falls, MN and Dianne (Dan) Melcher of Minneapolis, MN; and nieces Laura and Maggie and their families. Denise was predeceased by her mother, Dorine Mattson, and brother, Duane Mattson.
