Obituary

Diann Mavis Pesch, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away at home on Monday, December 15, 2025 after a brave fight with Cancer. She was born on October 23, 1947, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to Alvin and Donna Mae Feragan. On December 6, 1965, Diann married the love of her life, Richard "Rick" Pesch. This year marked their 60th wedding anniversary, a milestone that reflected a lifetime of devotion and partnership. Besides her work, Diann was always by Rick's side as they built their life together and raised their family.

They were blessed with three sons: Dean (Angie) Pesch and Todd (Gwen) Pesch, both of East Grand Forks, and Chad (Tammy) Pesch of Thief River Falls, Minnesota. Diann took great pride in her family and was happiest when surrounded by them.

Diann was known as an exceptionally hard worker, both at home and in her professional life. Growing up, she worked at American Crystal, which she often said was her favorite job because it allowed her to see her dad every day. Over the years, she also worked at Simplot, Walmart, and in gaming at the American Legion. No matter where she worked, Diann was known for her dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic.

Her hardest and most cherished work, however, was as a homemaker. Diann kept a spotless home, tended lush and beautiful gardens, and prepared meals that family and friends always looked forward to. One of her most beloved specialties was her famous lefse, truly like no other. Not a Thanksgiving or Christmas went by without Diann delivering fresh, warm lefse to loved ones. The smell alone would send everyone running to the kitchen, and the tradition became a treasured family memory.

Diann was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Feragan; her mother, Donna Mae Feragan; and her brothers, Dean Feragen and Alan Feragan.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Pesch; her sons and their families; and her siblings: Duane (Jody) Feragen; sisters, Ann (Dan) Straus, Ardyce (Bob) Olech, and Deborah (Bill) Reagan.

Diann will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her tireless work ethic, and the pride she had in everything she did. Her memory lives on in the family who loved her so much and the traditions she created.
