Donald "Donny" Curt Jenkins , age 58 of East Grand Forks, died on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at home surrounded by family and his beloved dog, Skye.

Donny was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on October 6, 1964 to Pete & Dolores Jenkins. He attended high school in Alvarado, Minnesota. Donny met Dawn in Alvarado and they were married on June 7th, 1985 at Our Savior's Church in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. They resided in East Grand Forks ever since.

Donny worked at many places over the years. He was a jack-of-all-trades kind of guy. He loved farming the most. When their kids were little, Donny & Dawn would go driving around with them to look at fields, especially the farms he worked on: Krejci, Amundson, and Moen Farms. Any chance he had to sit in a tractor, Donny took it.

Donny enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and racing. He enjoyed being part of the pit crew with his brothers and brothers-in-law summer Wednesday and Friday evenings.

His special joy was teaching his kids, grandkids, and nephews how to hunt and fish. Donny even shared his knowledge with many of his kids' friends. Donny also took great pride in the ice-houses he built from the bottom up.

Donny was a joker, but most importantly he was family man who took in many "extra" kids, welcoming them with open arms. Family was the most important thing to him. He recently said his family and fishing are what keeps him going.

Donny was preceded in death by his father, Florian "Pete" Jenkins; mother, Dolores Mae Jenkins; sister, Lynne Jenkins; brother-in-law, Dana Moen; and father-in-law, Ervin Moen. He is survived by his wife, Dawn (Moen) Jenkins; children, Holly (Garritt) Benjamin, Casey Jenkins, Heidi Jenkins, and Cole (Tara) Jenkins; grandchildren, Noah (Taylor), Kahri (Harmon), Elijah, Landen, Piper, Jack, and Elsie; beloved dog, Skye; siblings, Kenneth (Val) Jenkins, Sandi (Mac) McCracken, Tami McCalip, Caryn Robinson, Bill (Bambi) Asay, and Carla (Gary) Huebner; many nieces & nephews, great-nieces & nephews, cousins, other relatives, and close friends.

Memorial Service is 1:00pm on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Dahl Funeral Home, 2029 Central Avenue NW, East Grand Forks, Minnesota, with Visitation 1 hour prior. Service will be Livestreamed here on Donny's obituary page. Private Interment at Oaklawn Cemetery in Alvarado at a later date.
