Dorothy "Granny Dot" M. Kahl , age 92 of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at her home.

Dorothy May Wright was born on September 19, 1932 in Rugby, ND the daughter of Norman and Rita (Atkinson) Wright. Dorothy attended school in Carrington, ND and graduated from Carrington High School. On January 27, 1952 she was united in marriage to Clarence Kahl in Carrington, ND. They farmed in the Sykeston, ND area before moving to Grand Forks, ND in 1960. In 1966 they moved to East Grand Forks, MN. Dorothy worked for Home of Economy in Grand Forks for 30 years.

Family members who survive Dorothy include her three daughters, Connie Parr of Mentor, MN, Colleen (Len) Larson of Grand Forks, ND and Heidi (Jason) Peterka of East Grand Forks, MN; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bruce Wright of Sioux Falls, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Rita Wright; husband, Clarence Kahl on February 7, 2017; grandson, Casey Parr; and sisters, Bonnie Schultz and infant Marjorie Wright.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hospice of the Red River Valley.

FUNERAL SERVICE : 10:30 AM on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Dahl Funeral Home, 2029 Central Avenue NW, East Grand Forks, MN.
