Eleanore Bernice Akerlind, 92, of Fargo, North Dakota died Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home, Crookston, MN.

Eleanore was born May 12, 1928 in Cramer, ND the daughter of Lester & Elsie (Garbe) Strom. Eleanore grew up in the Landa, ND area and graduated from Landa High School. She married Melvin Akerlind on November 20, 1948 in Landa, ND. Eleanore and Melvin farmed in the Landa area. During the 50's they moved to California. They moved to Bottineau, North Dakota, in 1960 where they owned and operated the local Dairy Queen. Melvin and Eleanore moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota in 1973 where they operated the Giant Wash Laundry Mat in East Grand Forks. Eleanore worked for Young Drug and Home of Economy in Grand Forks until retiring in 2004. Eleanore's husband passed away in Dec. 2004.  In 2005 Eleanore moved to Fargo, ND.  She resided there until 2015 when she moved to the Villa in Crookston, MN.

Eleanore is survived her children, sons, James (Joan) Akerlind of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and Chuck (Susan) Akerlind of East Grand Forks, Minnesota and daughter, Jean Akerlind of Fargo, North Dakota, four grandchildren, Sally Akerlind of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Mary (Casey) Wood of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Ellie Akerlind, East Grand Forks, MN and Tyler Akerlind, Minneapolis, Minnesota and two great-grandchildren, Rylie & Kendall Wood, and one sister Donna (Walter) Running, Lincoln, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Akerlind, her parents; one brother, Adrian, two sisters Margie Watt & Ninny Nordmark and son, Steven Akerlind.

Per Eleanore's wishes, no services will be held.

Inurnment will be in Landa, (N.D.) Cemetery.
