Evelyn "Evie" Thompson , 89 of East Grand Forks, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025.

Evelyn Marlien Campbell was born on May 15, 1936 to George and Bernice (Storey) Campbell in Grafton, ND. The family lived in Park River, ND until 1946 when they moved to Grand Forks, ND to live with her grandmother, Mable Storey. She went to Belmont School and Grand Forks Central High, graduating in 1954.

Evie was married to Mickey Thompson on December 9, 1957 in Warren, MN. They made their home in East Grand Forks, MN for the next 65 years. Evie worked at Anderson Family Shoe Store for 14 years until it closed and then worked 20 years for American Crystal Sugar in the lab, retiring in 1996.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her dear grandmother, Mable Storey; her husband, Mickey, who passed away June 5, 2013, the same day her beloved brother, Tom Campbell, died 17 years earlier.

She is survived by Tom's family: sister-in-law, Maxine Campbell; nephew, Michael Campbell; niece, Michelle (Greg) Sorensen; several cousins and other relatives, along with many dear friends.

Evie never met a cup of coffee, a treat, or a game of cards she didn't like.

A Coffee & Cookies Visitation will begin at 9:00am, with Funeral Service at 10:00am on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Dahl Funeral Home, 2029 Central Ave NW, East Grand Forks, MN.

Interment at Resurrection Cemetery in East Grand Forks.
