Fordyce "Punky" A. Hanson, age 78 of Grand Forks, ND passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 at his home.

Fordyce "Punky" Allen Hanson was born on April 15, 1942 in Park River, ND the son of Alfred and Maxine (Howe) Hanson.  Punky grew up and attended school in East Grand Forks, MN.  On December 12, 1959 he was united in marriage to Clara Yanish in East Grand Forks, MN.  Punky worked at Point Mobil, American Crystal Sugar Company and Home of Economy before retiring in 2005.  He married Lou Ann Solem in East Grand Forks, MN on November 26, 1999.  Following his retirement Punky was employed with Hampton Management.

Family members who survive Punky include his wife Lou Ann of Grand Forks, ND; children, Wendy (Joseph) Boushey of Fargo, ND, Richard (Dawn) Hanson of East Grand Forks, MN, Cynthia (George) Randall of Colorado Springs, CO, Robert (Tera) Hanson of East Grand Forks, MN, Randall (Brenda) Hanson of Grand Forks, ND and a step-daughter Stacy Solem of Grand Forks, ND; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Alfred "Osky" (Mary) Hanson of Fosston, MN and George (Judith) Hanson of Moorhead, MN; sisters-in-law, Ronalee Hanson of Corona, CA, Karen (Henry) Duray of Grand Forks, ND, and Bonnie (Butch) Moteberg of Grand Forks, ND; brothers-in-law, Jim (Deb) Solem, Peter Solem and Paul (Shannon) Solem all of Oslo, MN along with many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Clara Hanson on January 16, 1999; brothers, Paul and Robert Hanson; nephew, Glen Hanson; sister-in-law, Jacklyn Hanson; mother-in-law, father-in-law, Donald and Aileen Solem.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM on Monday, November 30, 2020 in Dahl Funeral Home, 2029 Central Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN.

Masks and Social Distancing are required.

Visitation: 1 Hour Prior Funeral Service on Monday in Dahl Funeral Home.

Interment: Resurrection Cemetery ~ East Grand Forks, MN.
