Obituary

Gary "Pop" Leroy Mosher , 79, East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, January 3rd, 2025 at home surrounded by his family.

Gary was born on December 2nd, 1945 in Crookston, Minnesota to Earl & June (Ogaard) Mosher. He attended elementary school in Beltrami until 7th grade then went to Fertile where he graduated in 1963. Gary married Donna Rae Yanish on December 16th, 1964 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fisher. They made their home in Crookston for a number of years and then moved to East Grand Forks where they raised their three boys. Gary worked for UPS from 1970 until retiring in 2003 - he delivered packages in the Grafton and Walhalla area for 33 years.

Gary enjoyed spending time at Maple Lake riding around on his pontoon, helping his relatives farm, golfing with his friends, going camping with family, and visiting with everyone he met. Gary was not always a warm and fuzzy man, maybe a little prickly at times, yet he would be there if you needed him or he would share his thoughts on what should be done. Gary loved to talk about and share stories about his grandkids in Oregon and his granddaughter in Two Harbors. He enjoyed helping out his boys with giving advice, even when they may not have requested it but probably needed it. He was a fighter and stayed optimistic throughout his battle with cancer.

Gary is survived by his wife, Donna; sons, Rod (Linda) Mosher of Gresham, OR, Richard (Rhonda) Mosher of Two Harbors, and Ryan (Carol) Mosher of Grand Forks; grandchildren, Shaelyn (Alex) Oling of Two Harbors, Michelle (Dale) Marcum of Oregon, and Jesse (Rachael) DeShirlia of Oregon; great-grandchildren, Bryanna, Liya, Ethan, Bryson, and Collin; brother-in-law, Jerome Larson; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Earl & June Mosher; sister, Connie Larson; brother, Harlan and sister-in-law, Jan Mosher. Pop will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.

The family would like to thank Dr. Abdul Hannan and staff at the Cancer Center along with Red River Valley Hospice "Green Team."
