Gary E. Wasylow, 78, of Grand Forks, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Luther Memorial Home of Mayville, ND.

Gary Elroy Wasylow was born a New Years Baby on January 1, 1943 in Larimore, ND to the late Michael Wasylow and Lila Hagen. Gary was raised by Albert Schroeder of Euclid, MN.  He grew up in rural East Grand Forks and entered the US Army at the age of 18 and was stationed in Germany with the 74 ^th Army Postal Unit.  This is where he gained his love for Germany including the language of which he was fluent.   Gary ran his business of Kaleidoscope Contracting out of Fisher, MN for 35 years.  Gary adored his grandchildren and was very proud to be their "Papa".  He had a great sense of humor and intellect and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Family members who survive Gary include his children, Peter Schmidt of Germany, Brigitte Ulke of ND, Damion (Stacie) Wasylow of FL, Judd Wasylow of AR and Terra (Maurice) Aird of ND; 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; siblings, Marilyn (Fred) Osmon of CO, Judee (Scott) Schmidt of ND, Dan (Shelly) Wasylow of ND, John Wasylow of ND, Tim (Christine) Wasylow of SD, Arlene Wegener of MN and Rodney Schroeder of ND.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sandra Schmidt and an infant; Ruth Wasylow and Albert Schroeder.
