Gayle M.
King
August 4, 1959 — August 16, 2024
Gayle King , age 65 of Roseau, passed away on Friday, August 16th, 2024 in Roseau, Minnesota.
Gayle Marie Patterson was born on August 4th, 1959 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to parents, Robert & Barbara (Sirek) Patterson. She was raised in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and graduated from East Grand Forks Senior High in 1977. She met Raymond King, and they were married on November 17th, 1978 in East Grand Forks. In 1979 Gayle and Ray moved to Missouri and lived there until they moved back to East Grand Forks in 1982. They started a family, raising 3 children. Later in life, while being a caretaker to her dad, a wife and raising three children, she added college to her already busy life. She earned two degrees to become a surgical technician and a licensed practical nurse.
Gayle was an active member of Community Covenant Church and involved in Bible Study. She was a talented crocheter, liked to garden, and had an eye for flowers, plants, and home decor. Gayle enjoyed going on Mystery Trips with "Girl-time Getaways" with her friends. She also loved going out for coffee, Mexican food, and movies. More specifically, fantasy movies such as Dune, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and many, many more classics. Gayle especially loved her grandkids. She would drop anything and everything to get the chance to spoil them. Whether it was showing up for a dance recital, a baseball game or sitting outside watching them swim.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Eric.
Gayle is survived by her husband, Ray; daughters, Amanda (Nathan Hanson) King of Williston, North Dakota, and Julie (Travis) Ripplinger of Reynolds, North Dakota; grandkids, Sophie, Brady, Edie, and Layla; siblings, Debra (Gordon) Olson of Temecula, California, and Nancy (Brad) Scholler of Grand Forks; and nieces and nephews.
