Gaylord Monda, 67, of East Grand Forks, MN died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at his lake home in Mentor, MN.

Gaylord Monda was born July 7, 1953 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Charles and Naomi (Dordal) Monda.  He grew up in East Grand Forks, MN and graduated from East Grand Forks Senior High School in 1971.  He married Kathy Olson in Grand Forks, ND on August 11, 1971.  He worked as a plumber and pipefitter for many years.  In 1979 what started as a hobby with his father and 4 beehives, evolved into a full time commercial Beekeeping operation known as Monda Honey Farm.  Gay was so proud to turn his lifetime business over to his only son and amazing partner Jerod.  He was even more excited that his grandson Austin loved the bees and now is his dads partner in the honey business.  Gaylord was a loving caring man and lived life to the fullest, enjoying his family, friends, nature, helping others, lake time, fishing, hunting, his motorcycles and always looking for a new adventure. He loved his life and everyone who shared a part of it.  Although his life was short, we have a lifetime of memories to share.

He is survived by his wife Kathy of East Grand Forks, MN, son Jerod (Brenda) Monda, grandson Austin (Courtney) Monda, daughter Chana Monda, grandchildren Ashley, Brynna and Casey and great grandson Jason, all of East Grand Forks, MN, siblings, Jon (Robert Johnson) Monda of San Diego, CA, Lauren Monda (John Payne) of Santa Barbara, CA, Jerry (Florence) Monda of Freeport, FL, Joseph (Pat) Monda of Rio Rancho, NM and father-in-law Emanuel Olson of East Grand Forks.  He is preceded in death by his parents, son in law Jason Zak, infant grandson Jeffrey Zak and mother-in-law Doris Olson.
