Obituary

Gerald Boushey, age 88 of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the Halstad Living Center in Halstad, MN.

Gerald Boushey was born on September 21, 1930 in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Albert and Zerine "Honey" (Chandler) Boushey. Gerald lived and attended school in East Grand Forks before joining the United States Air Force on July 29, 1951 where he was stationed in Korea. Following his discharge from the Air Force on July 28, 1955, he returned to East Grand Forks, MN. He married Theresa Ebertowski on November 15, 1956 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks. He grew up with a love for farming. Before and after the military, he worked with his father and brothers at A & L Potato Company for many years. After his father retired, he continued to farm with his brother, Tom, and then on his own with his sons. He was an active member in his community for many years, serving with the Lion's club, and Heritage Society. As the years went by, he enjoyed the company of his family; with his sons he loved to split wood, drive around the country roads with their side by side, and go out to the Legion--pull tabs were always involved. He loved a good steak--the Bronze Boot and Whitey's were his go to places. Even though his daughters did not live close, they came to visit as often as possible.

Family members of Gerald include his children, Lee Boushey of East Grand Forks, MN, Scott (Shelie) Boushey of East Grand Forks, MN, Kelly (Scott) Perkins-Davidson of Hornell, NY, Jonathan Boushey of East Grand Forks, MN and Tracy (Clint) McCann of Kalispell, MT; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Eugene and Thomas Boushey; son-in-law Jonathan Perkins; and grandson Nicholas A. Boushey.
