Grace Giauque , 76, of East Grand Forks, MN passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Grace Irene Johnson was born July 17, 1947 in Menahga, MN to Eino & Olga (Haataja) Johnson. She graduated from High School in Larimore, ND and then moved to East Grand Forks. On July 8, 1966, Grace married James Giauque in Larimore, ND.  She worked in the food industry most of her life and also worked as a daycare provider for many years.

Through the years, Grace and Jim loved following their grandchildren to all their activities, spending time at the lake, playing games of almost any kind, board games, cards, and dominos. Grace enjoyed baking and was known for her famous ginger snaps and bread dumplings. Some of Grace's favorite things were Bingo, Casino trips, reading, but most of all, being surrounded by family. Her grandkids and great-grandkids brought a special joy as she would always ask, "How are the babies?"

Grace is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jim Giauque of East Grand Forks, ND; children, Kim (Jeff) Vigen, Chris (Diana) Giauque, Anne (Randy) Kroeplin, and Sarah Giauque, all of Grand Forks, ND; brother, Donald (Barb) Johnson of Lawton, OK; 11 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eino & Olga; daughter, Laura Davis; sisters, Elaine Donarski, and Dorothy Wayne; and brothers, Arnold and Willard Johnson.

Grace's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the team at Altru for the care they provided her over the years.
