It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Helen A. Hanson, of Grand Forks, ND.  She passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Valley Senior Living on Columbia, Grand Forks with family at her side.

Helen Hanson was born May 25, 1932 in Belcourt, ND the daughter of John Baptiste and Mary Jane (Belgarde) Wilkie.  She grew up in the Belcourt, ND area. She married Glenn Hanson in October of 1960. Helen had nine children, Dorothy, David, Toni, Myron, Lonnie, Tommy, April, Gail and Dale. She and Glenn were in a terrible car accident on November 22, 1966 from which Glen did not survive.  In 1967, Helen met Darold Frovarp.  Together they raised Helen's younger children and went through life hand in hand.  Helen and Darold spent their Golden Years together on the orchard they loved on the Pacific West Coast.  They moved back to North Dakota in 2012 to be closer to family.

Helen was a homemaker.  An amazing baker to the delight of her grandchildren at many weekend sleepovers!  She never said "no".

She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy, Toni, Lonnie, April, Gail, sons, David, Tommy, Dale, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glenn Hanson, life-long companion Darold Frovarp, her son Myron, six sisters, and three brothers.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ben Roth and his nurse, Amanda, for all of their kind and loving care shown to Helen through the years.
