Helen Marie Brodeur Zahn, 81,of Fargo, ND formerly of Grand Forks, ND died Thursday, November 3, 2022 at her home in Fargo, ND.

Helen Brodeur was born July 7, 1941 in Joliette, ND the daughter of Joe and Dora (Leveque) Brodeur.  She grew up in Joliette and attended schools there and graduated from Pembina High School in 1959.  On August 15, 1960 she married Kenneth E. Kleven in Cavalier, ND.  To this union was born 4 children.  On September 18, 1979 she married Jacob T. Zahn in Crookston, MN.  Helen worked for the Cavalier States Attorney, First Bank of Langdon, Grand Forks Federal Credit Union, Grand Forks Court System, and Grand Forks Veterans Service Office as an Assistant Veteran Service Officer, retiring in 2000.  Helen and Jacob relocated to Fargo ND at which time she owned and operated her private daycare from 2001 to 2010.   Jacob passed away on November 21, 2007.  As Nana she enjoyed her 12 beautiful grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children Jodi (Greg) Mattson of Grand Forks, ND, Keith (Allie) Kleven of Gold Canyon, AZ, Steven Kleven of Fargo, ND, and Mary Kay Powers of Centerville, Ohio, step children Tonya (Kevin) Murphy of Grand Forks and Cinthia Pederson of Wahpeton, ND, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mary Jean Hanson of Rosemont, MN, Mae (Bob) Urlaub of West Fargo, ND and 1 brother Robert (Jill) Brodeur of York, South Carolina and several nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers, Lawrence, Phil, Paul, Edward, Peter and Baby Joe Brodeur, 1 sister, Theresa Brodeur Pariseau, her children's father Kenneth E. Kleven, her husband Jacob T. Zahn and 1 stepson David L. Zahn.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Family Church, Grand Forks or Hospice of the Red River Valley, Fargo, ND.

Memorial Mass: 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation: 1 hour before services at the church.

Inurnment: Calvary Cemetery North, Grand Forks, ND.
