Jay Dahlgren, age 65, of Grand Forks, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND after a short illness.

Jay G. Dahlgren was born on August 11, 1954 in Breckinridge, MN, the son of Charles and Rosemary (Gilles) Dahlgren. He grew up and attended school in Wahpeton, ND where he graduated from high school. Following his high school graduation he attended NDSCC and then graduated from the University of North Dakota. While attending school, he met Cynthia Newman in 1977 and they were united in marriage on September 9, 1978 in Moorhead, MN. He began employment with the USDA Human Nutrition Research Center also known as the "Nut Lab" in Grand Forks until retiring in 2013. Following his retirement, he was employed at Walmart in Grand Forks. Jay's love for Nascar, hunting, fishing and the outdoors were truly his passion.

Family members who survive Jay include his wife Cindy of Grand Forks, ND; children, David and Josh, both of Grand Forks, ND; Liz, Averie, Laia, Caroline and Adele; siblings, Betty of Elk Point, SD, Robin and Karen of Wahpeton, ND, and Tim of Kenyon, MN along with many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rachel Gannon, Jeannie Christiansen and a brother Dean Dahlgren.
