Obituary

Jodi Helle , 64, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away due to complications after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer on Thursday, April 17th, 2025 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Jodi was born on October 17, 1960, in Crookston, Minnesota, the daughter of Dale Brosdahl and Ione (Berg) Anderson. Jodi grew up in Argyle, Minnesota, graduating from Stephen-Argyle High School in 1978. She graduated from the University of North Dakota, with her career in healthcare starting out as a home health aide, to an RN at Altru Hospital where she met some of her best friends and second family. Jodi married the love of her life, John Helle, on July 24, 1983, and they made their home in East Grand Forks. Jodi's passions included her family, friends, the Minnesota Vikings, carrying on traditions like making lefse, meeting up with her friends for breakfast, going to the farmer's market, going to concerts, the Ren Fest. She loved the dogs in her life and was always adding to her Corgi accessory collection.

She was the glue holding many together, the rock keeping us all steady, and an angel on Earth who found her way back to Heaven. Whether it was in her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, friend, or nurse, she left her mark in every relationship. She lived her life fully and deeply, never wanting to miss a moment. Jodi was often described as the most caring, giving, kind, and compassionate person and remembered for her laughter, optimism, smile, and pure heart. She will be forever in the memories of the lives she has touched.

Jodi was preceded in death by her parents, Dale Brosdahl of Argyle, MN, and Ione (Berg) Anderson of Viking/Argyle/Warroad, MN; her stepfather, Richard Anderson of Viking, MN; her brother, David Brosdahl of Grand Forks; and her sister, Stacy Brosdahl.

She is survived by her husband, John Helle of East Grand Forks; her daughters, Erin Gaddie and Kathryn (Rainey) Anderson of Grand Forks; her son, Michael Helle of East Grand Forks; her granddaughter, Kaylee Gaddie of Grand Forks; her brothers, Steve (Nita) Brosdahl, Jon (Esther) Brosdahl, Paul (Sharon) Brosdahl, and Jaime (Brandy) Brosdahl of Lake of the Woods area; her sisters, Julie (Dwayne) Stich of Prior Lake, and Jerilyn (Charles) Pletsch of the Lake of the Woods area; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
