Jose R. Mendoza, age 75, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018, at his home.

Jose was born on May 19, 1942, in Bay City, MI, the son of the late Ricardo and Dominga (Rodriguez) Mendoza.  He grew up in Crustal City TX.  He enlisted in the US Army and upon his return he once again settled in Crystal City.  It was there that he met Mary "Alma" Garcia and they were married on May 15, 1974 in Carrizo Springs, TX.  He worked as a truck driver and then as a migrant worker from 1989 to 1995.  He then moved to Grand Forks, ND, and worked for A and L Trucking and Gowan Construction.

José is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary "Alma" Mendoza; children, Veronica (Eric) DeCoteau of Grand Forks, ND; Ruben Trevino of Carrizo Springs, TX; and Rene Mendoza of Grand Forks, ND; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 sister Virginia Mendoza, of Crystal City, TX; and one brother Ricardo Mendoza of Crystal City, TX, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, and 5 sisters.

Visitation: One Hour Before services at the Funeral Home.

Interment: Resurrection Cemetery, East Grand Forks, MN.
