Kevin Vanyo, 56, died on March 17 ^th , 2022 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Kevin Andre Vanyo, was born on January 9 ^, 1966 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Anthony and Ethel (Dolezal) Vanyo. Kevin was baptized in Tabor, Minnesota and later moved with his parents to East Grand Forks where they became members of Sacred Heart Catholic church. In 1980, one year after the death of Kevin's mother Ethel, Kevin moved to Moorhead, Minnesota where he lived with his sister Valerie and brother-in-law Tim for four and a half years. After that time he lived in various independent living residences in Moorhead. Kevin was a Moorhead resident and a member of St. Joseph's parish until May of 2021, when he moved to Eagles Wing group home in East Grand Forks, Minnesota until the time of his passing.

Kevin graduated from Moorhead High School and following his graduation, he worked in numerous places including Lief Laundry, Our Redeemer's daycare, YMCA, Ramada Inn, Culvers restaurant, and Integrity Windows, all in the Fargo, Moorhead area. Over the years, Kevin was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, and ARC of West Central.

Kevin was a beautiful gift to his family and to his community. He loved to sing, dance, and make people laugh. Kevin was a kind gentleman who was the master of holding babies, singing birthday songs, and helping others in any way he could.  He enjoyed playing softball, bocce ball, attending camps, ushering at Mass, and traveling (especially to Disneyland and his trips to visit his brother Terry in Arizona). For many semesters, Kevin was invited by his sister Valerie (professor at Minnesota State University Moorhead) as guest lecturer in one of her classes, where he proudly and effectively shared his personal life story with teachers in training.

Kevin was proceeded in death by his mother Ethel, father Anthony, brother John, sister-in-law Sue Vanyo, and brother-in-law Chris Williams. Left to mourn his passing are siblings Darrell (Dena) Vanyo; Mark (Kathy) Vanyo; Valerie (Tim) Ritland; Cindy (Larry) Jamieson; Phillip Vanyo, Bridget Vanyo, and Terry Vanyo; caregiver Jan Morey; special friends, Zack Mann, Miranda Coufal, and Gerard Kuznia, 24 nieces and nephews and 48 great nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at St. Joseph's church in Moorhead, Minnesota on Thursday, March 24 ^th , from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m.  A visitation will be held at Sacred Heart church in East Grand Forks, Minnesota on March 25 ^th , from 4:00 – 6:00 with a Rosary at 6:00 and a prayer service at 6:30.  Kevin's funeral will be held on Saturday, March 26 ^th at 11:00 at Sacred Heart church in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Visitation will take place from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral.

Because of how much Kevin loved to help others, in lieu of flowers, we suggest memorial offerings which will be used to establish donations in Kevin's name.
