LaVonne Anderson, 92, of Bemidji, MN, formerly of East Grand Forks, MN died Saturday, May 31 in Mesa, AZ.

LaVonne was born June 23, 1932 in Whiteford Township, Marshall County, MN, the daughter of Clarence and Ellen( Bloomquist) Lian. She grew up in the Middle River, MN area and attended Moorhead State Teacher's College. She taught in Badger, Thief River Falls, and East Grand Forks, MN. She married Floyd Anderson in Gatzke, MN on August 11, 1956. She is preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.

Together, Floyd and LaVonne, raised five children. She said being an only child was lonely so she wanted a big family! Summers would find all seven of them camping in the Trailblazer at area lakes, and cross country. You could often find them, in the audience watching their kids (and later, their grandchildren) cheering them on, in athletic events, music concerts, or any activity happening.

LaVonne was a 4H leader, active in her church at Our Savior's, and enjoyed her Bible Study Group at their AZ church, Spirit of Hope, where they started attending worship in a gym, when the church was being established. They enjoyed wintering in AZ for 31 years and made many friends there. Here she found more time to sew, and loved to quilt. She made graduation quilts for all her grandkids, and baby quilts for each great grandchild. She loved to line dance, do crafts, bake, listen to music, read, and work in her flower gardens- a gift she passed on to each of her daughters.

She is survived by her husband, Floyd, of Bemidji, MN; children Vicki Wangberg (Wayne Olson) of Cass Lake, MN, Bob Anderson (Tammy Baudin) of Bemidji, MN, Julie (Bill) Olson of Tenstrike, MN, Karla Anderson (Scott Maves), East Grand Forks, MN, Tom (Deb) Anderson of East Grand Forks, MN; 11 grandchildren, Ben Wangberg, Stephen Wangberg, David Wangberg, Allie Ojala, Tim Anderson, Katie Grogg, Matt Olson, Trevor Selk, Dylan Selk, Sophie Anderson, and Joslyn Anderson; and 10 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Ben, Natalie, Brooks, Easton, Emmy, Crosby, Addie, Everett, and Isla.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to a charity of your choice.

Memorial Service : 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1515 5th Ave. NW East Grand Forks, MN. Service will be live-streamed on LaVonne's page at www.dandahlfuneralhome.com.

Visitation :  5:00-7:00 PM, Friday, June 27, 2025 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, East Grand Forks, MN.
