Lora Jean Kleven, age 100 , passed away June 7, 2026 at Valley Senior Living in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Lora Jean was born October 28, 1925 in Kensal, North Dakota, daughter of Joseph and Helen (Nogosek) Kramer. She grew up on a farm near Kensal, and attended country school.

Lora Jean worked at a Boy's Home in St. Paul, MN and afterward became Director of Housekeeping at St. John's Hospital, Fargo. In 1962, she became Director of Housekeeping at St. Michael's Hospital, Grand Forks and then at Altru Hospital until her retirement in April, 1989.

Lora Jean met Miles Kleven in 1975 and the two were married July 1, 1976 at St. Michael's Church in Grand Forks, ND. They both loved to travel and spend time at the lake. She was a long-time member of the following: VFW Post 1824, DAV, Eagles, American Legion, East Grand Forks Senior Center, and Sacred Heart Church.

Lora Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Miles Kleven; parents, Joseph and Helen Kramer; brothers, Raymond, Bernard, Kenneth, and Ronald; sisters, Irene Hoggarth and Delores Spitzer; and sisters-in-law, Elmere, Arlene, Linda, and Irene.

She is survived by her sister, Judy (Marvin) Sund of Wimbledon, ND, and many nieces and nephews.
