Luis A. Puente Sr. age 75 of Grand Forks, ND passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Luis Angel Puente Sr. was born on February 28, 1947 in Catarina, TX, the son of Donicio and Navidad (Garcia Castillo) Puente.  Luis grew up and attended school in Texas. On May 20, 1965 he married Juanita Tristan in Carrizo Springs, TX. The two moved to East Grand Forks in 1984 where they made their home. He graduated from the AVTI College in East Grand Forks, MN where he earned a degree in Auto Mechanics.  He worked for Lyons Auto Parts and more recently was a baker at Hugo's in East Grand Forks, MN.  Luis was a huge sports fanatic and an avid supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Cubs, and the Boston Celtics.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Puente on January 13, 2008; son, Juan Jose Puente; mother, Navidad Puente and four grandchildren, Noah, Tony Ray, JJ, and Gabby.

Loving family members who survive Luis include his father, Donicio Puente; four children, Asalia "Sally" Puente (Victor Henrandez) of Santa Anna, CA, Luis (Irmalinda) Puente Jr. of Blaine, MN, Ermelinda "Linda" Puente of Grand Forks, ND, Amelia Puente (Miguel Galvin) of Grand Forks, ND; 11 grandchildren, Gina, Matthew, Lorenzo, Sandra, Sonia, Marcos, Adam, Ashley, Miguel, Isahia, and Evalyn; 13 great-grandchildren, Oscar, Issac, Jacob, Mia, Layla, Avery, Bella, Adam, Liam, Grayson, Paxton, Jaxon, and Carter; and many brothers & sisters.

Visitation: 1 Hour Prior To Funeral Mass on Tuesday also at the church
