Madonna Mary Hoglo, age 84, of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019, at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN.

Madonna DeGagne was born on June 5, 1934 in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Hosna) DeGagne.  She was raised in East Grand Forks, MN, and graduated from E.G.F. Senior High School.  Madonna then attended nursing school where she graduated as a Registered Nurse.  On June 4, 1956, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, John "Jack" Hoglo, in East Grand Forks.  Throughout her career as an RN, Madonna worked at St. Michael's, Deaconess Hospital, and finally United Hospital, in Grand Forks, ND, until retiring in 1985.  Madonna enjoyed serving as a board member for the E.G.F. Library, and later as a member of the G.F. Horticultural Association.  After the flood of 1997,

she and Jack moved to California for 14 years, and then returned to Grand Forks in 2011.

Madonna is survived by her children, Constance Lutz of Grand Forks, ND; Christopher (Georgina) Hoglo of Santa Clarita, CA; and Mary Ann (Troy) Boushee of Crookston, MN; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, Caroline and JoAnne, and special aunts, Lucia and Marie DeGagne.
