Mae L. Benson, age 78 or Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2018 at Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks, ND.

Mae Lorraine Benson was born on May 18, 1940 in Grand Marais, MN the daughter of Alfred and Gladys (Plumme) Johnson. Mae grew up in the Grand Marais/ Grand Flint Trail, MN where she attended school. On August 3, 1957, she was united in marriage to Marlin Benson. They moved to Erskine MN in 1959 and then to Fosston, MN in 1974 where she was employed as a waitress. In 1980 she moved to East Grand Forks, MN and worked at Farmsco Truck Stop as a waitress. She attended the Area Vocational Technical Institute in East Grand Forks and was enrolled in the truck driving program.

Family members who survive Mae include her children, Guy Benson of Grand Forks, ND, Dale (Tammy) Benson of Mankato, MN, Arlyn Benson of Grand Forks, ND, Cindy Benson of Grand Forks, ND and Dalayna "DeeDee" (Fallon) Mehling of Brockett, ND; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, AnnaBelle Johnson; step-mother, Martha Johnson and a great-granddaughter, Lei Lani.
