Margaret A. Veralrud, of Oslo, MN, passed away peacefully in Arizona on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at the age of 79, surrounded by her husband and children.

Margaret Ann McGuire was born March 29, 1945, on the farm in Walsh Co., ND to Edward and Virginia (Sass) McGuire. She grew up and attended school in East Grand Forks. She attended Early Catholic Training for First Communion and Confirmation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. On September 9, 1961, Margaret married Richard Veralrud at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Oslo. They made their home in Oslo and were blessed with four children. Marge had several jobs including a Baker and a Prep-Cook for Oslo Public Schools. She also worked for Touch of Magic for 11 years for weddings and anniversary parties. Then she was a nanny for many children and now takes care of her great-grandchildren. After Richard retired, they enjoyed spending time in California on the San Diego Beach, where they could also visit their grandkids.

They loved dancing and their many travel adventures on the motorcycle across the United State.  Marge and Richard became snowbirds and spent winters in Arizona.

Marge is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Richard Veralrud of Oslo, MN; children, Raeane Veralrud of Phoenix, AZ, and Reed (Jenny) Veralrud of New River, AZ; sisters, Sandra Simonson of Oslo, MN and Kathy Lillico of Salem, OR; grandchildren, Dustin (Becky) Boman of Grand Forks, Nathan (Shannon) Boman of Poway, CA, Beck Veralrud of Mesa, AZ, Nicole (Jake) Ihry of Grand Forks,  Alexandra Veralrud of Grand Forks, and Cameron Veralrud of New River, AZ; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Virginia McGuire; daughter, Rondalyn Boman; son, Richard James Veralrud; and siblings, Ellen Schmidt, Mary Stavig, Dennis, Gary and Ken McGuire.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Oslo, MN.

VISITATION: One hour prior to Mass at the Church

INTERMENT: St. Joseph's Cemetery in Oslo, MN in the spring
