Marsha R. Spoor, 75, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Valley Senior Living, Grand Forks, ND.
Marsha was born July 9, 1951 in Crookston, Minnesota to Dwayne and Orpha (Hagen) Partlow. Marsha was the second oldest of four children and the only girl.
Growing up, Marsha enjoyed summers at the lake, giving her brothers a hard time any chance she got, and eventually working at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home as a teenager. Marsha’s greatest gift was her caring nature. From tending to the elderly as a teen, helping her mother at home, raising her own children, as well as caring for her parents before they passed, Marsha preferred to help others above and beyond herself. She was humble, kind, and a little bit wild too. I believe she may have had a stubborn streak as well, but the jury is out on that!
On October 14, 1972, Marsha married Thomas A. Spoor in East Grand Forks, MN. They met at The Kegs Drive-In, Grand Forks, ND, and the rest is history! Together Tom and Marsha raised two children; a son, Jarrod T. Spoor (wife Nicole and daughter Maggie) and a daughter, Jodi R. Zavoral (husband Dan, son Jack, and daughter Audrey).
Marsha loved being a mother and considered being a wife and a mother an honor until her last breath. It her own words, being a wife and mother was her “greatest accomplishment” in this life! When it came to her family, Marsha loved fiercely, cared deeply, and cheered loudly for us through every milestone and misstep growing up.
Raising her own children was fun, but Grandma Marsha lived for her grandchildren and spoiled them any chance she could! She attended their activities, went for a Happy Meal, and there were endless sleepovers and play dates. As her grandchildren grew older, Marsha loved treating them to lunch at Paradiso or Mexican Village. Time spent with Jack, Maggie, and Audrey ‘trumped’ any other option—her grandchildren came first and were her entire world!
Left to mourn her passing is her husband of nearly 54 years, Tom Spoor; one brother, Danny Partlow (wife Julie); her children and their spouses, Jarrod & Nicky Spoor and Jodi & Dan Zavoral; her three grandchildren, Jack Zavoral, Maggie Spoor, and Audrey Zavoral; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Marsha was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Don Partlow and Ron Partlow.
In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to the Sacred Heart Foundation or Good Samaritan Society.
