Marybeth Smart, 93 of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away November 8, 2020 at Valley Senior Living in Grand Forks, ND.

Marybeth was born March 4, 1927 in Cavalier, ND. She worked at St. Michaels and United Hospital for 35 years prior to retirement. She was united in marriage to Wm. Gordon Smart on September 3, 1947 in Grand Forks, ND. They made their home in East Grand Forks, MN. She had many talents, some of which were crocheting, sewing, quilting, reading, genealogy and decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends.  She really enjoyed cooking on the holidays for her family and anyone that came to the home.

Marybeth is survived by her children; Penny (Craig) Chatterton, Pam Murek, Scott (Cheryl) Smart, Gary (Sherri Denne) Smart, Shelie (Scott) Boushey, daughter-in-law Roni Smart, 15 grandchildren; Angie, Kristie, Jamie, Mike, Steve, Dominic, Kelly, Carrie, Matt, Chris, Jason, Kim, Stacy, Samantha, Shawn and 22 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wm. Gordon, son Roger, son-in-law James Murek and mother Doreen Baakkonen.

Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
