Michael Allen Ferguson, age 63, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND, with his family by his side.

Michael was born on October 24, 1955, in Johnson City, TN, to James and Leola Ferguson.  He was raised Johnson City and graduated from Happy Valley High School in Elizabethton, TN, in 1973.  In 1975, Mike enlisted in the United States Air Force.  He honorably served for 17 years and retired in 1992 as an E-7 Tech Sergeant.  While serving, he was stationed in Germany working as an inventory management supervisor.  In 1990, he deployed to the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Desert Storm.  While deployed he flew with Medevac teams recovering soldiers from the battlefield.   After his retirement from the Air Force he began working for Simplot in Grand Forks, ND, first as a potato fryer and then later managing the entire computer system for the production line.  He retired from Simplot in February of 2018.  On May 17, 1996, he married Candice Pape at Bethany Lutheran Church in East Grand Forks, MN.  The couple made their home in Grand Forks and Michael in his spare time enjoyed watching sports and Battle Bots on tv, going to Lake of the Woods and the Pape family farm, and especially just being with his beloved Candy.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Candice "Candy" Ferguson of Grand Forks, ND; siblings, James Ferguson of RI, Katrina Ellsworth of RI, Glen Ferguson of TN, Cynthia Smith of OH, and William Ferguson of TN; mother and father in law, Robert and Donna Pape of East Grand Forks, MN; and brother in laws, Rodger Pape of Fargo, ND, and Ron (Sharleen) Pape of East Grand Forks, MN; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Leola Ferguson, and nephews, Riley and Ryan Pape.

Military Honors will be conducted by the East Grand Forks American Legion Post #157, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3817, and the United States Air Force Honor Guard.

Memorial Service: 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Dahl Funeral Home in East Grand Forks, MN.
