Miles O. Paulson age 69 or Manning, ND, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks, ND after a courageous battle with cancer.

Miles O. Paulson was born on February 9, 1949 in Jamestown, ND the son of John and Natalie (Neuman) Paulson.  Miles graduated from Carrington High School in 1967.  Following his high school graduation he joined the North Dakota Army National Guard in June of 1970 until August of 1976.  He was a platoon leader at the Jamestown National Guard from September of 1973 until September of 1974 as 2nd lieutenant OCS Class Super 17.  On June 23, 1973 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Bonnie Scharbow.  While they lived in West Fargo, ND, they welcomed two children, Craig (1979) and Shelley (1983).   Miles worked a variety of jobs over his life including tree trimming, beer delivery, construction, bus driver, and heavy equipment operator. His lifelong dream was to raise buffalo in western North Dakota.  He was able to accomplish this as he and his family moved to a small farm west of Manning, ND in 1992 and built the buffalo herd.   Later in life Miles enjoyed helping with the seasonal family business, Paulson Fireworks; he loved to be at the fireworks stand to visit with customers and do fireworks displays.  He retired from the Dunn County Road Department in 2017. Miles was a kid at heart his entire life and enjoyed playing practical jokes, telling stories, or just doing something fun. Miles especially enjoyed the time that he spent with his grandchildren at the farm.  He loved pulling them in the homemade wagon behind the lawn tractor and helping them convert the barn into a fort.

Loving family members who survive Miles include his wife Bonnie of over 45 years; children, Craig (Katie) Paulson of Watford City, ND and Shelley Paulson of East Grand Forks, MN; 3 grandchildren, Max, Lucas and Nora; brother, Doug Paulson of Manning, ND; sister, Arlys (Dale) Williams of Chinook, MT.

Miles is preceded in death by his parents, John and Natalie Paulson.
