Patricia (Farren, Nelson) Gelbach, 80, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Valley Sr. Living on Columbia, after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Patricia Lee Farren was born on August 10, 1942, the daughter of Lorraine (Vivatson) and Edward Farren in Grand Forks, ND. She graduated from Grand Forks Central where she excelled in academics and was also a national champion baton twirler. She married Gary Nelson and they had 5 children. They later divorced. She graduated from Mayville State College with a degree in management. She married Blair Gelbach and moved to Arizona where they enjoyed traveling for many years.

Patricia enjoyed crafting with her daughter, Kris, playing the piano, and sewing gifts for grandkids and great grandkids.

Patricia is survived by her children, Kent (Ursula) Nelson, Sonia Burley, Mitch Nelson, and Eric Nelson; son-in-law, Jerry Sersland; grandchildren, Justin (Kimmie) Burley, Jacinda (Luke) Nelson, Evan (Angela) Nelson, Meghan Nelson, and Eric Nelson; great grandchildren, Brynlee and Miles Burley; and nephew, John Farren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorraine and Edward; husband, Blair Gelbach; daughter, Kris Sersland; brother, Bill Farren; sister-in-law, Betty Farren; and ex-husband, Gary Nelson.
