Philip M. Cote, age 79 of East Grand Forks, Minnesota passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at his home.

Philip M. Cote was born on March 13, 1943 in Thief River Falls, Minnesota - the son of Delman and Edna (Olson) Cote. He lived in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. On February 4, 1963, he was united in marriage to Suzanne Hiney in East Grand Forks. He owned and operated Blue Bird Shoe Shop in Grand Forks, ND., and Family Shoe Repair in East Grand Forks, MN. Philip's favorite job was working as a custodian for Thuro Clean at Sacred Heart School. He enjoyed seeing the kids every day and visiting with the staff.

Philip loved hunting and fishing with family and friends near Lake of the Woods, Minnesota. He loved to watch Monday night wrestling and Football. He occasionally cheered for the Vikings but admittedly was mostly a Cheesehead. In his younger years, he loved to take his wife out dancing. Philip loved camping, initially touring many lakes around MN with family and friends. He eventually settled in at Ulland's campground on Maple Lake and then Union Lake Sarah Campground in Erskine, MN. Here, he made many friends and fond memories. When recently asked what interested him the most, he said "family". Philip was a very loving husband and father but his favorite title was PaPa as he was called by his grandchildren.

Family members who survive Philip include his wife, Suzanne Cote of East Grand Forks, MN; daughter, Jody (John) Boushee of East Grand Forks, MN; three grandchildren, Cory (Kelli) Boushee, Ryan (Aubrie) Boushee, Chloe Boushee and one great-grandson, Beau Boushee; two sisters, Cathy Gallus of Mattson IL, and Bonnie Hutmaker of Fargo , ND. He is a preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Russell, Wendell, Laverne, June, Elaine, Shirley and Barbara.

Funeral Service: 10:30 Am on Monday, May 9, 2022 in Dahl Funeral Home, 2029 Central Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN.

Visitation: 1 Hour Prior Memorial Service on Monday in Dahl Funeral Home.
