Philip A. Kopecky, age 80 of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of Tabor, MN, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Valley Senior Living on Columbia in Grand Forks, ND.

Philip Albert Kopecky was born on May 19, 1939 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Albert and Emma (Pesek) Kopecky. Philip grew up in the Tabor, MN area where he attended grade school in District 34 of Tabor, MN. He then attended high school at the AC in Crookston, MN. He joined the United States Navy in 1962 and served his country before being honorably discharged in 1965. Following his discharge, he returned to Tabor to farm with his father. He also worked for Red River Ford and Eastside Auto in East Grand Forks as a mechanic. He was a member of the VFW Post 3817, the American Legion Post 157 and the Eagles Aerie 350.

Philip is survived by sisters, Adeline Qualheim of Grand Forks, ND, Alice Lizakowski of Grand Forks, ND and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Kopecky and sister Elaine Johnson.
