"Red" Darrell Lynn Conely, 68, of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away peacefully at home Monday, November 30, 2020 from complications of cancer.

Red was born May 18, 1952 to Dennis and Elsie (Botko) Conely in Warren, MN, where he grew up. On April 6, 1984 he married Julie Dub. He worked for American Crystal Sugar for over 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed traveling around the world with his wife of 36 years, Julie. His biggest passion was fishing. Summers were spent with friends at Cass Lake fishing and winters ice fishing at Lake of the Woods with his buddies.  His second passion was watching his only daughter, Ashley, chase her dreams with horses. He was the first to always encourage her to do what she loved to do. He was blessed with a new fishing partner when Ashley married John Thompson. Since then Red had a son to go fishing with and fish they did! Red had an infectious smile and laugh, he always was to the point and said what he thought and he was so loved for it.

Darrell is survived by his wife Julie Conely of East Grand Forks; daughter Ashley (John) Thompson of Fisher; mother Elsie Conely of Warren; brothers Duane (JoAnne) Conely of CA, David (Betty) Conely of Warren; mother-in-law Edith Dub of Grand Forks; in-laws Tony(MaryAnn) Dub of Coos Bay, OR, Gary Dub, Gene (Roseanne) Dub, and Don Dub all of Grand Forks, Nancy Davidson of North Bend, OR, Cheryl Dub of Grand Forks, and Gayle Johnson of Fargo; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Dennie Conely and father-in-law Ray Dub.

A celebration of life will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at the Manvel Golf Course Club House, 1662 26th Ave. NE, Manvel, ND 58256.
