Rene Mendoza, 44 of Grand Forks died Monday, June 10, 2019 at his home.

Rene was born May 21, 1975 in Eagle Pass, Tx the son of Jose and Alma (Garcia) Mendoza. He grew up in Crystal City, Tx and graduated in 1993. He was a migrant worker with his family when they moved to Grand Forks, ND. He worked for various construction companies until his death.

He is survived by his son, Rey Santoya and daughter Danielle (and grand daughter Annie) Vargas all of San Antonio, Tx, mother Alma Mendoza, sister Veronica (Eric) DeCoteau all of Grand Forks and several nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his father, Jose Mendoza, brother Ruben Trevino, his grandparents, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
