Richard (Dick) Vlady Vacura, 86, of East Grand Forks and Texas passed away on Monday January 15, 2018. He was born on September 4, 1931 in Grand Forks, ND to Vlady and Madeline (Schneeweis) Vacura. He was born and raised in East Grand Forks, MN and graduated from Central High School. Dick married his first wife, Adeline and they had six children.   He then met Bonnie Leiberg Morrison, she had three children. They were married on June 8, 1968, together they had a daughter of their own, and that's the way they became "The Va-cur-a Bunch"…."The Va-cur-a Bunch".

Richard started working in his teens, shining shoes at his Dad's barber shop in East Grand Forks.   Later, he drove a cab and worked for American Crystal Sugar. His love for music started when he taught himself how to play the drums. He then played in multiple bands over several years, before forming his own band, The Arrangers in East Grand Forks, MN.   Richard started working at Bridgeman Creamery April, 1957 and retired in September, 1988.   Searching for a place to call home, Richard and Bonnie started traveling the United States during the winter months from 1989 to 1998.   They chose to settle down in Mission, TX; where Dick continued playing the drums for several bands.

His loving family includes: Bonnie his wife, of East Grand Forks and Texas; children: Catherine Vacura, Loveland, CO, Roberta Dahlgren (Fred), New Mexico Richard Vacura(Debbie), Mandan, ND, Tamarie Kvernen (Paul), East Grand Forks, MN, Guy Vacura, Grand Forks, ND, Donald Morrison, Grand Forks, ND, MaDonna Egeland (John), East Grand Forks, MN, Cheryl Olson (Craig), Thompson, ND, Teresa Larson (Corby), East Grand Forks, MN, Shannon Vacura, Grand Forks, ND; 21 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandkids; siblings John Vacura (Carolyn) Visalia, CA, Ginger Bestland, Grand Forks, Gary Vacura (Shirley), East Grand Forks, MN, Nancy Belgarde, East Grand Forks, MN and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, 1 brother-in-law, 1 Aunt, 8 Uncles, 1 Grandchild.

Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service on Thursday, January 25, 2018 in Mendenhall Presbyterian Church and also one hour prior to Funeral Service on Friday in Mendenhall Presbyterian Church
