Rina
Hanson
August 24, 1952 — April 2, 2026
Rina Beth Hanson (Barbisan) , age 73, of Alvarado, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026.
Rina was born on August 24, 1952, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She built a life centered around family, connection, and caring for others. She dedicated much of her career to child development, where her natural ability to nurture, guide, and truly see people made a lasting impact on many lives.
Rina had a gift for making others feel safe. When you talked to her, you felt heard. She was also someone who would tell you what you needed to hear, even when it was not easy. She valued honesty and deeply cherished the relationships she built with her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, James Todd Hanson; and her children, Lucretia Watson Johnston, Reno Watson, and Orrin Hanson.
She was a proud grandmother to Sanona Corbeil, Savannah Voeller, Josh Husebye, Tristan Thomas, Tatiana Watson, Reno Watson Jr., Robert Watson, and Isabelle Hanson.
Rina was also blessed with many great-grandchildren, Graci Ann Chisham, Brently Chisham, Wyatt Aslett, Sylvie Voeller, Harmonnie Flores, Amirrah Watson, King Ejeforbiri, Izzabella Watson, Royal Watson, Trae Watson, and River Watson.
She found great joy in watching her family grow across generations, and that legacy will continue through each of them.
Per Rina's wishes, there will not be a large service. A small celebration of life will be planned for this summer. Those wishing to attend may reach out to immediate family for details.
Rina will be deeply missed, forever loved, and remembered for the way she made people feel.
