Robert "Bobby"
Lee
December 7, 1948 — February 11, 2024
Robert "Bobby" Edward Lee passed away peacefully in his sleep at Aneta Parkview Health Center on Sunday, February 11th, 2024.
Bobby was born December 7th, 1948, in Grand Forks, ND to parents Roy Merlyn Lee & Esther Elizabeth Kossow. His family grew to a family of 7 including brothers, Michael and Roger, and sisters, Patricia and Beverly. He grew up in East Grand Forks, MN and later moved to Brainard, then Minneapolis, then back up north to Grand Forks, ND where he spent most of his life. He later moved to Aneta, ND and became a part of the Aneta Parkview Health Center family.
He worked at Jennings Red Coach Inn, Whitie's Restaurant, Roadhouse Café, and I-29 (Big Sioux) Café. Where he made a lot of friends and enjoyed talking and joking with the customers.
Bobby enjoyed building model cars, attending classic car shows, riding bike all over Grand Forks, and taking vacations all throughout the US. When he was young, he sang in his church choir. He knew every word of every song. He loved visiting his Aunt Maxine who treated him like a son. They would frequently take trips to Maple Lake where he enjoyed boating and fishing with the family. He spent lots of time with his cousins playing games and playing pranks on one another.
Bobby was one of a kind. Had a very sweet heart and a loving personality. If you met him once you were family to him. He enjoyed seeing and being able to pet the many animals he encountered. He loved to hold and play with the children in the family. If Bobby was holding a child, they would never cry. Animals and children always brightened his day. His smile would warm your heart and before you knew it you were smiling too.
He is survived by his sister, Beverly Bommer; brother, Michael (Brenda) Lee; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia; brother, Roger; brother-in-Law, Donald Bommer; uncle, Armond Kossow; aunt, Maxine Kossow who was like a mother to him; and cousin, Debbie Lee.
A special thank you to all the workers at Aneta Parkview Health Center for taking such good and loving care of him with his family so far away! You guys are his family also and we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
