Roger Dale Amundson, Sr ., age 78 of East Grand Forks, went to be with the Lord and his loving wife, Sandra, on Friday, October 11, 2024 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Roger was born on August 4, 1946 in Warroad, Minnesota to parents, Dale & Florence (Krzoska) Amundson. He grew up in Watertown, South Dakota, before the family moved to East Grand Forks where Roger graduated high school. He went to work for Home Gas, now Suburban Propane, where he worked for 43 years. Roger met Sandra Lien in 1966 and they were married on June 17, 1967. They made their home in East Grand Forks and raised 5 children.

Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and he loved his yard. He mostly loved being around his family, having get togethers and goofing with his grandkids. Roger also enjoyed getting coffee at McDonald's with his brothers & nephew, and he always looked forward to the Sam's Club shopping trips every Saturday. Roger was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be truly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra; parents, Dale & Florence Amundson; and brothers, Gerald (Patricia) Amundson and Daniel Amundson.

Roger is survived by his children, Michael (Suzanne) Lien of Grand Forks, Michelle (Eric) Fullmer of San Antonio, TX, Malinda (Hector Hernandez) Amundson of East Grand Forks, Marla (Terrance Ball) Amundson of Lakeville, MN, Roger (Kelly) Amundson, Jr. of Mountain Iron, MN; 10 grandchildren, Savannah, Nadine, Michael Jr., Ryan, Breanna, Peter, Eddie, Marcie, Kaden, and Brody; 13 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Elaine (Steve) Sipos of Lexington, KY, Ronald (Rita) Amundson of Lexington, KY, Debra (Paul) Wendell of East Grand Forks, and Dale Jr. (Darla) Amundson of East Grand Forks.

Celebration of Life is from 12:00pm – 4:00pm on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the VFW Post 3817, 312 Demers Avenue, East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Private Family Interment at Resurrection Cemetery in East Grand Forks, Minnesota.
